The UK government is suggesting so reforms to their online gambling laws in the after math of Black Friday. Full Tilt Poker one of the largest online poker sites before the DOJ hit them with indictments has had trouble paying back their players and has even lost their gambling license which has made them shut their doors to not just US players but to players all over the world as well.
Many UK players that played on the site cannot login into their accounts now. This has pushed the UK government to rethink how they regulate and license online gambling sites. The question that is being asked by the UK government is whether online gambling sites that are operated and licensed offshore should be able to advertise freely.
The new plan that is being suggested is that all online gambling sites that advertise within the UK will need to have a license issued by the UK Gambling Commission. This will surely reduce the number of options for UK residents.
The events of Black Friday seemed to affect the online gambling industry as a whole now. The question is, will this be end up really helping the average player or just make it more confusing for them.
